Spiritual growth oftentimes butts up against the norm. I’ve been told “everything in moderation”, be a “good girl”, “children are to be seen and not heard”. These admonitions rang through my ears as I grew into adulthood. The “not rocking the boat theory” SEEMED to work for a while, making for smooth sailing for all outward appearances.
What happened to the encouragement to act bravely, boldly, following your dreams? When did I get to upset the old applecart? When did courageous and outrageous behavior come into play? What about the volcano of enthusiasm welling up on the inside? I don’t want to “find” a comfortable living I want to create a dynamic life not regretting one day on earth.
I say: Screw Moderation…You Can Never Get Enough AWESOMENESS! Yes, we are all endowed with enough pizazz and effervesce to break into bloom. Maybe we blossom as roses in the manicure mannered gardens or maybe as wildflowers along a mountainside.
We each have a different spiritual DNA in our souls beckoning us to bloom where we are planted. It does require plenty of courage to ignite the braveness and boldness needed in your life to fulfill your life’s work. We must step up….sometimes, step out, often fail, but always rising again. Courage is the all-important ingredient.
So no matter where you are today, at the top of your game, struggling to get back in the game, or trying to find the game, remember as Rumi states, “Many demolitions are actually renovations.” Take courage, my friends. Following your heart will never take you on a guilt-trip to unwanted destinations.
