Just once I’d like to wake up and really find “Peace On Earth”. I pray for it, sing out about it, and scurry around trying to find “peace on earth”.

Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor afraid.” (John 14:27)

Somehow I missed the boat….

My heart is troubled and my mind is torn by fear. How about you?

What went wrong? Where is this peace Jesus gave us so long ago?

Obviously the peace is which Jesus spoke is not earthly. His peace is his gift coming from somewhere else. Bur how do we tap into this gift of peace?

This “heavenly peace” is found within ourselves. Just watching the world “blow up” literally, we know it’s not experienced on the outside. People’s lives and hearts are being torn asunder losing all sense of normalcy.

Like the ocean’s surface tossed about with white caps, while below the tumulus waves, the deep silence is unscathed. We too must go deep within to find our quiet stillness, our peace.

Jesus’s gift of peace flows from our connection with our Divine Source. This friendship, this union brings calm, stillness and peace which stems from our very souls.

Often times it may not manifest on the “outside” but the sacredness we recognize “within” acts as our “center”. It’s our “piece” of the “Peace”.

We need to suspend ALL judgment and get into God’s head. We need to try to see what God sees. As we share our one vision, our gaze and our perception we become one with God. We meld into HIM and we lose our fears, worry and anxiety in his love. We embrace ourselves as HE does, not as the world does.

We recognize at the deepest level of our being that we are really a part of God and God is an integral part of us…and that is all good. We are at peace. All is good within…all is God within.

The world may be falling down around us but we must hang on to this special gift of peace. So during these disturbing days of violence let’s try to connect with the Source of true Peace through communion with each other and connection in heartfelt prayer.

Let us pray that we can all experience HIS “Peace”. Then and only then there may ultimately be true Peace On Earth!
