“PHOSPHORESCENCE. Now there’s a word to lift your hat to… to find that phosphorescence, that light within, that’s the genius behind poetry.” – Emily Dickenson
I would add that the discovery of phosphorescence, the light “within” and the light “without” is the genius, not only to poetry but to the grandeur of life itself.
As humans we are body and soul, bearing the Divine light within. The Divine light is that part of us that connects directly with our Creator. We are called to join in this Divine Connecting love by being the light and seeing the light.
BE THE LIGHT for others:
Light doesn’t draw attention to itself. It radiates. It lets people see what is around them. It allows another to see what is really there, not what they imagine or fear is there when it is dark and they cannot see. That’s what we are meant to be for one another – light.
Light lets people see all the beautiful things that are invisible in the dark. Light lets them see faces, flowers, oceans, paintings and people’s hearts. Light let’s us see what is worth having and being and what is not.
We can help each other put things in perspective, whether we know it or not. We help others to see the beauty that is IN them and AROUND them.
When someone’s flame is flickering in the wind of anxiety, adversity, or affliction….be their light. Their flame will eventually return burning brightly but until them….BE THE LIGHT that they may need.
Since we never know what another person is experiencing we must keep our own light strong with patience in our interactions.
We get impatient when people do not meet our expectations…. Accommodate them – see the light, be their light!
When people fail to see things the way we expect them to….Reconcile with them – see the light, be their light!
When people struggle to convert from their old ways of doing things… Accept their progress – see the light, be their light!
If someone struggles to keep up…Acknowledge their pace – see the light, be their light!
So let us pray for one another. “Lord, let us never forget that we are called to be a light for one another. Keep our light burning brightly so that all around us may see your goodness and accept it in others.”
Have a week of PHOSPHORESCENCE!
