A couple of weeks ago I started my “mini-series” looking at Oscar Wilde’s quote:  “The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you realized “why”.  If you missed the first two installments, you can read them here on my website under “Blogs”.

Here is Part 3 of the series:  More thoughts on  “Finding Your Why”:

Day 7:  How do you hear the whispers of Divine Guidance leading you to your life’s destiny?  How do you experience this “sacred connection”?  You must “be one” with this inner spring of LIFE force.  Connection requires that you quiet the mind (knowing that the “drunken monkey” will keep chirping at you).  Your mind at this point is an obstacle creating nothing but anxiety, making you its servant rather than you being master of your own mind.

Quieting the mind, suspending all thoughts, can be achieved by meditation and yoga.  Yoga means “union”…union with your authentic Self.  Stillness and quietness allow you to go “inside” and “connect”.

Day 8:  You don’t have to sit like a pretzel inhaling burning incense (unless this helps).  The point is for you to find your own space and peace whether that “sacred place” is outside with nature, in a church, or in the presence of a loved one.  Outside “noise”, disquiet, uneasiness, resentful feelings, anger, sleeplessness and guilt are all signs that you are being taken away from your life’s work, your destiny.  Listen to your feelings and note your physical reactions.  If this person, situation, or relationship is draining you of  your joy, your happiness, and pulling you in a downward spiral of negativity, walk away.  Walk away from that energy-sucking circumstance.  The pangs of guilt may haunt you but know that this “clutter” is clogging up your Divine Feed”.  Dr. C. Northrup encourages us to clean out the psychic junk drawer.

A paraphrased Guilt-Free message from my Writer’s Workshop in SF in a session with Marianne Williamson: I can’t have a real relationship with you, if I’m worried about what you are thinking of me.

Have a great guilt-free week….Patty
