We surround ourselves with security finding comfort in the “normal” in all facets of our lives.
When we are forced to give up our accustomed ways of doing things, viewing the world through our typical lens, we can be shaken to our very core.
As life unfolds, the work that we are called to do, sometimes takes a radical shift. Lately it seems that many of us have been forced to abandon certain roles and really “let go” to adapt to life. What makes these changes or adaptations so difficult is that we cannot see what comes next. Fear of the unknown overwhelms us, keeping us in the status quo, afraid that we will make a mistake or not measure up to the job.
Our lives then sink into mindless repetition…judging, doing, viewing, and responding in our same old comfortable pattern. We relax in our familiarity of what we do and how we do it. We are happy where we are. Stuck in the status quo….
At every stage of our lives, old or young, we are called to do valuable work on our life’s journey. We have the needed gifts to insure success in our life’s calling. Spirit is calling us through our life’s circumstances. Listen to the whisper of the Spirit in your life and trust that you will have the strength and courage to respond with grace to all that Life hurls your way.
Be assured that you will always be needed in the great Plan. We just don’t carry God’s gifts within us, we are God’s gift to others. Always remember that we are Divinely guarded, guided, and gifted.
