Over time, my body has given into gravity, my mind plays games with me, and the expression of my faith has shifted. But one thing has remained constant over the years, my belief and reliance on Angels.
In grade school I learned that I had been given a guardian angel that was to watch over me and protect me. What a comforting thought as a small child that something that big and powerful was on “my side”. This angel brought me safety, having my backside covered. My little prayer book was filled with pictures of these celestial beings as magnificent, huge beings, armed with Superman powers. Just the thought that I had one of these special guardians as my very own brought reassurance, comfort, and a strong belief that Something much bigger than I could ever imagine had everything in control.
I conversed daily with “Bartholomew”, (naming him by taking all the first letter of all my problems – reading, boys, etc. and finding an appropriate name with all those letters…a little childish, but after all it was MY angel.) Trust built up over the years as I confided, cried, and sought solace. I KNEW I had a friend forever.
Today I still have a strong sense of angel interventions in my life. I know that I am being Divinely guided, guarded, and gifted by these special messengers of God. They will protect and guide me through every moment of my life. I know that I am never alone, being connected to the angelic realm at all times. All I have to do is ASK. Since I am endowed with a free will it’s up to me to invite these angelic beings into my life. Angels will not interfere with you.
So at this special time of the year, give a nod to YOUR angel, thanking him/her for their love and light that permeates even your darkest hours. BELIEVE.
