IMG_1939With the remembrance of Pearl Harbor looming ahead of us it’s an excellent time to reflect. During World War II, the world lost 60,000,000 (yes, 60 million) people. This picture is one of the exhibits at the World War II Museum in New Orleans showing the Imbalance of Power in the world in 1939. Each figure represents 2 soldiers. The Germans had about 4.7 million men, the Japanese had about 4.6 million, and the U. S. only had 600,000. I asked our guide how the U.S. ever won the war against such odds. “We came together as a country”, he replied. By 1945 the U. S. had grown to 16 million with one and all sacrificing, for freedom.

Two little words, “Coming together”, carry a powerful message not only in our political life, but also our spiritual life. Conflicts occur not only between countries, but within ourselves. We are spiritual beings having an “earthly life” experience bringing contradictions, splits, and uncertainty. We are torn and divided. We need to become undivided, integrated, and centered. Bring mind, body, and spirit together in harmony. Only in this state will be find peace.

We can be immobilized with indecision and stuck in situations, not knowing to which way to turn. Should I do this or that? Should I agree or disagree? And no matter which decision we make we second- guess ourselves wondering if it was the “right” decision. The overly active mind can cause “Analysis Paralysis”. We need to move out of our analyzing minds and into our feeling hearts. Follow your “gut fee” and get in touch with your authentic self. If you are challenged in connecting…just jump in and you heart will start beating so quickly that you will KNOW.

Guilt-Free Tip of the Week: When you follow your heart, you never have to worry about making the “right decision”. Find your peace.
