“Is God everywhere?’ quizzed a little boy having breakfast with his mother. “Yes, everywhere” replied, mom reassuringly. “Is God here us with in this room?” the curious little boy continued. “Of course, He is in our kitchen”, mom answered. “Is God in my cup”? asked the child looking at his half full glass of juice. Stumbling, mom answered, “uh huh, yes,” hesitating wondering just where this whole conversation was leading. Then the little boy, as quick as lightening, slapped both of his hands over the top of the cup, declaring “Got’cha”!
Like that little boy, we are always searching for God. We are on a lifetime mission of our spiritual journey seeking connection with our Divine Source, hoping to yell, “Got’cha”. But our efforts often seem futile.
A wise man once said: “We can’t draw near to God if we’re far away from our own self”. That wise man is drawing us inward to find God; to connect with our “God-part” leading us to our true destiny.
BE SELFISH
So let’s be selfish. Let’s get wrapped up looking inward feeling the tug of emotions that is pulling us to life’s work. Take some time to look within, listen within, and feel within. Am I truly happy? Is this where I want to be? What makes my soul sing? Tap into these emotions giving you feedback. These feelings are your personal guidance system, which will direct you to your ultimate destination, to God. Don’t get lost along the way or take the “guilt-trip” detours looking “outside” for your joy. Hold the course so you can exclaim, “Got’cha”!
Here’s to your happiness.
