North Valley Hospital Book Signing
As many of you know, North Valley Hospital in Whitefish, MT is an establishment dear to my heart. I worked with the dedicated staff, Board members, and Foundation members to raise over 6 million dollars to build the present “state of the art” medical facility serving the Flathead County. The hospital embraces the “Planetree” model, putting the patient at the center of their own care. The facility itself, looking more like a luxurious Four Seasons hotel rather than a traditional hospital, reflects the sensitivity at the heart of their service. When I wrote “A Change of Habit” I promised a percentage of the profits to be donated to North Valley Hospital. On Monday, Sept. 17, the hospital hosted a book signing. What fun I had visiting with fans of the book and supporters of the hospital! Karin Olsen, the Executive Director of North Valley Hospital Foundation (pictured in the center) and Pam Ellis, the Foundation Coordinator (to her right), are responsible for the operation of the Gift Store, which displays and sells my books. I was so pleased to be able to present the Foundation with a check for a donation sparked by the sales of “A Change of Habit” for their new capital campaign to enlarge the birthing center in the hospital. Thanks again to Karin, Pam, and all the supporters of North Valley Hospital and “A Change of Habit”. Here are couple of pictures, capturing the book signing and a day in the Gift Store.
